JavaScript – Error – “Unable to get property ‘getitem’ of undefined or null reference”

Background

One of our end users is having a javaScript error when they access a third party tool.

Error Message

Textual

The error message states that:

Unable to get property ‘getitem’ of undefined or null reference

Diagnosis

Google Chrome

Tried with Google Chrome and things are good.

Internet Explorer

Took to the net and found correlating error message.

The corrective step is to:

  1. Launch Internet Explorer
  2. Using the wrench,   wrench, access the “Internet Options” setting
  3. In the “Internet Options” window
    • Access the “Advanced” tab
    • Transverse to the “Security” group box
    • Make sure that the “Enable DOM Storage” entry is checked
