Technical : Microsoft – Windows 2012 – Performance Improvements / Storage

In calendar year 2012, MS Windows 8 garnered most of the attention.  But, if truth be told, Microsoft released a corresponding OS for their Server platform.

That OS is MS Windows 2012.

  • SMB 3.0 — Allows MS SQL Server database deployment on file shares
  • Resilient File System (RFS) – New File System

Here is some literature on potential optimization gains within the Storage area.
