But, I have just agreed to a blog posting from one of those who sits in high chairs – A Microsoft SQL Server MVP.

I had solicited his thoughts and he generously replied and gentlemanly\politely asked whether he can rebut one of my earlier claims.  And, in the interest of science, my answer is YES.

He, the MVP, will be discussing his thoughts on how ‘SQL Inserts’ compare to ‘SQL Merges’.

Using SQL Plans and SQL IO Stats, here is my initial take
