Microsoft – SQL Server 2008 Best Practice Analyzer – Error – Login does not exist or is not a member of the Systems Administrator role

While running Microsoft SQL Server 2008 – Best Practice Analyzer (BPA) against a MS SQL Server Instance, ran into this error:

Login does not exist or is not a member of the Systems Administrator role

Tried so many different things until I followed AdamR adviced via  Introducing the SQL Server 2008 R2 Best Practices Analyzer (BPA)…(http://blogs.msdn.com/b/psssql/archive/2010/06/20/introducing-the-sql-server-2008-r2-best-practices-analyzer-bpa.aspx)

His advise is to:

  1. In MS SQL Server, create explicit Account for my logged-on AD Account
  2. Grant that account sysadmin privilege in SQL Server
